Sorry to hear of Helen's passing away. She and her sister, Lucile, were special friends of mine when I was growing up in Valdese. My friend, Beaver Robinette, and I would go around Christmas Eve singing Christmas carols to our friends. One year Beaver and I forgot to go to Helen's home and sing "Silent Night" to her. So on Christmas Day, Helen called my mother to ask her if anything was wrong as Beaver and I had not stopped by her house to sing "Silent Night" to her! So what did I do? I got in touch with Beaver and we went over to Helen's house and sang "Silent Night" to her on Christmas morning.

Dear Anna and all the family,
We are so sorry that Miss Helen has passed away. We have lots of fond memories of her. I remember when she drove her station wagon filled with MYF kids up to Lake Junaluska. Now that was quite a trip! She was a fun lady who was a pleasure to know. Lucinda Watson, VHS Class of 1972; former member of First Methodist Church, Valdese.
