Mr. Glenn Robert Lingerfelt Sr., 68, of Hickory, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at his residence, following a period of declining health.
Glenn was born on November 16, 1949 in Burke County to the late George Henry Lingerfelt and Cora Stillwell Lingerfelt. He was a retired truck driver with Hickory Springs and a longtime member of Winkler's Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Lingerfelt and one sister, Barbara Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Paulette Bumgarner Lingerfelt of the home, his children, Rob Lingerfelt and wife Kristy of Winston Salem, Crystal Lewallen and husband John of High Point, Harv Lingerfelt of Hickory, Scott Lingerfelt and wife Kathy of Hickory, and his siblings, Louise Hyatt of George Hildebran, Ray Stillwell of Hickory, Cricket Ervin and husband Roger of Lenoir and George Lingerfelt of Nebo. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Hunter Adkins, Tyler Lingerfelt, Riley Lingerfelt, J.R. Lingerfelt, Maren Lingerfelt, Garner Lingerfelt, Walt Lingerfelt and Avery Lingerfelt, one great-granddaughter, Paisley Adkins, nieces and nephews, Darlene Johnson and husband Kevin, Jessica Fredrick, husband Matt and their son Abel, Cody Philyaw, Chase Ervin, Scott Stillwell and wife Renee, Mark Stillwell and family, and Bo Robinson, and Special friends of the family; Johnny Johnson, Josh Chapman, Chad Smith, and Terry and Jackie Edwards.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. at Winkler's Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Faulkenbury and Rev. Paul Deal officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Winkler's Grove Baptist Church.
