Mrs. Linda Joyce Huffman Reece, 77, of Hudson, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care of Hudson, following a period of declining health.
Linda was born on March 19, 1942 in Burke County to the late Kermit Huffman and Bessie King Huffman. She was a longtime member of Baton Baptist Church, and was a retired CNA for Western Carolina Center, now known as J. Iverson Riddle Center, where she worked with special needs residents for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Odell Huffman Sr., and one sister, Shelba Jean Wilson.
Survivors include her husband, McKinley Dairl Reece of the home, two daughters, Tammy Hollifield and husband Keith, Julia Colvard and husband Tim, and two sons, Jonathan Reece and wife Ellen, and Kevin Reece and wife Jennifer. Also surviving are ten grandchildren; Christopher Hollifield, James Hollifield and wife Melissa, Chase Glenn, Hunter Reece and wife Brooke, Madison Reece, J.C. Reece, Caleigh Reece, Tyler Reece, Joey Reece and Jackson Reece, and five great-grandchildren, Lucas, Silas and Elijah Hollifield, and Jaedyn and Gavin Nichols.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. at Baton Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Parker, Rev. Robert Gober and Rev. Jonathan Reece officiating.
